Hearts of Oak will hope to build on their impressive outing against Aduana as they play Tarkwa based Medeama in the second group B game of the ongoing G6 tournament.
The Phobians stunned fans who had a predicted a total capitulation of the team against Aduana with a highly polished performance.
Kenichi Yatsuhashi’s men controlled play for large portions of the game as they implemented their high pressing game but poor finishing cost them all three points in a goalless.
New signing Cosmos Dauda was the guilty party shooting feebly into the hands of Joseph Addo after being played through.
Next up for Hearts is one of their bogey teams who have made a habit of inflicting defeats on the Phobians in cup competitions.
In the space of three years, Medeama have eliminated Hearts twice from the semifinal of the FA Cup and will be hoping for a repeat result in this G6 encounter.
Tom Strand’s boys just like Ashantigold, are prepping themselves for the CAF Confedrations Cup and will see the test against the Phobians and the tournament as a whole as ideal.
The Yellow and Mauves who lost goalkeeper Foli Adade, Tetteh Zutah, Evans Quao, Kofi Agyare and Bismark Adjei in the off season have replaced them with youngsters whom they perceive have the potential to be an upgrade on the departees.
Berekum Arsenals goalkeeper Andre Abbey and Tamale Utrecht defender Vincent Dey joined on three year deals each while Enoch Atta Agyei and Patrick Opoku joined last month from Windy Professionals and Bechem United respectively.
This game has the makings of a good tie and should Hearts stand any chance of progressing to Sunday’s final, they must win against the team from Tarkwa.
