Head coach of Accra Hearts of Oak, Kenichi Yatsuhashi has revealed he was tasked by his employers to win the GHALCA Six invitational tournament or get the sack.
Questions have been raised about Kenichi's future since he recorded two defeats in the club's pre-season friendlies in Libya, and has won only one game since taking charge of the club.
Accra Hearts of Oak exited the GHALCA Six invitational tournament without scoring a goal, and more questions than answers have been asked about the technical and tactical abilities of the Japanese-American trainer.
"G6 tournament is a competition that I was tasked to win or be sacked. My job is always on the line, so there is nothing different there. At this moment I am writing this blog, I am still coaching Accra Hearts of Oak, but never know about tomorrow. That is life of coaches at professional clubs," Kenichi wrote on his blog.
However, the Japanese has seen positives from his side performance at the tournament.
"G6 was very productive for us in many ways. 1st, we played well and almost won, but drew 1st game 0-0 and lost 2nd game by 1-0. 2nd, we were able to use almost everyone on our squad. We have many good players, so it is important for us that they play. 3rd, I got to watch Ghana premier league teams live for the 1st time. You know it is different when you watch it on video and live.
"... our team was able to sustain high level of intensity for 90+ minutes during this tournament. We are using Polar Team System to analyze our conditioning program. It is great help.
"I have been using BOSU balance ball and Kettlebells since my time at Aspire Academy for my low back, and I love it.
"We restart our team training tomorrow. Start of the league is getting closer!"
