Ghana's senior women's team will be hoping to claim one of the seven places available for the 7th African Women’s Championship (AWC) when they host Senegal in the return game in Accra.
The Black Queens, chasing a 7th appearance at the women's championship go into Sunday's game at the Ohene Djan Stadium with an advantage after winning 1-0 back in Dakar and will be determined to secure a double.
Despite the first leg advantage, the game against the Teranga Lionesses would not be an easy roll over for Ghana with Black Queens coach E.K Edusei stressing on the need for his side to maintain their discipline.
“We want to win badly and the Senegalese cant stand in our way. I’m sure they will also try to score and this will give us the opportunity to also open up, but I have no doubts we will win,” the Ghana coach said ahead of the game.
A place in the finals of the competition to be hosted by South Africa remains on the minds of the women's team as the Black Queens hope to ensure Ghana's regular participation at the finals since 1998.
Six other games will be played on the continent with the winners over the two-legs joining hosts South Africa for the final tournament fixed for September.
