Richard Kingson is aiming to shame his critics as he gets set for Ghana's opening game at the 2010 World Cup.
Kingson was poor in his last appearance for Ghana against Holland in an international friendly when he let in four goals and positioned himself poorly too many times.
The performance led to a backlash and resurrected a debate about his status as Ghana's number one as Milovan Rajevac insisted he was not guaranteed the goalkeeper's jersey.
But Kingson who played every minute of Ghana's first World Cup campaign insist he didn't do much wrong against the Dutch and insist he will not allow what others think affect his performance.
"Ghanaians are always like that. I am still keeping my confidence and I know the God I serve will not put me to shame but rather my enemies will be put to shame.
“I am training hard and focusing on the game. I can’t see any faults from the Holland game no matter how many times I look. But I don't care. They did it in Angola (during the Nations Cup) but I don't care. I am a professional goalkeeper I will do my best the way I have always done," he told KickOffGhana.com.
Kingson is confident he can play a key part in the first game and insists Ghana must start on the right footing.
“Yeah definitely for the first game we are going in to win the game so we can get three points and have a good stand. You can see every one of the players wants to do it and do it well very quickly.”
