Former President John Agyekum Kufuor has sent goodwill wishes to the Black Stars as they prepare to contest in the FIFA 2010 World Cup tournament in South Africa.
He said "the World Cup is undoubtedly the biggest football showpiece in the world. Four years ago, in your maiden appearance in Germany, you made Ghana and indeed the whole of Africa proud with your brilliant performance".
Mr Frank Agyekum, Spokesperson of former President Kufuor in a Goodwill message, said it is therefore with great pride and high hope that he is writing to wish them the best of success at the Mundial.
Mr Kufuor added that "This time around, you must have gained some experience and Ghanaians expect an even more sterling display from you".
He added that "I have no doubt that you will excel and make the Black Star shine once again. Go play your hearts out knowing that there is an expectant nation that will stand by you every inch of the way".
"Go match your opponents boot for boot. Belief in yourselves and trust in God”, the ex-president said, adding that “May God Bless your efforts.”
