About seven hundred soccer fans believed to be drawn from all the supporters unions in the country who are going to South Africa to cheer the Ghana Black Stars in the 2010 World Cup which has just began, are said to be stranded at the El-Wak Sports Stadium in Accra.The supporters claim they were told they would be going yesterday, 10th June, 2010, to enable them witness the opening ceremony of the tournament, yet they have not been flown to South Africa.One of the supporters, “Dr. Sika Asem” who spoke on ASEMPA FM’s mid-morning programme dubbed NEA MENNIM indicated that, many of them have not gotten their visas as at Friday morning. “When the names are mentioned and you do not belong to the list, you can join the plane, which is bad. If we can go and cheer them up, it can help them. We are disappointed about the situation,” Sika Asem explained.He said some of the supporters are said to be short of money since they did not plan to stay in Accra for long especially, those who came from other regions.Meanwhile, Mr. Abraham Boakye, a.k.a ‘One man Supporter’ who is gathering five hundred supporters with the help of South African Sports Ministry, has offered to help the stranded fans but at a cost of $500 per person.He explained that the embassy had limited equipment for the acquisition of the visa since the supporters were many.Mr Boakye urged Ghanaians to also stop the last minute way of doing things. “African must stop the last minute.
