Liberty Professionals new signing Edward Affum has set sights of winning the Premier League with the Dansoman side as he readies himself to play for his fourth league club in the country.
Affum sprang into the limelight with Tema Youth in the 2008/2009 season bagging the top scorer award.
After a failed stint in Sudan, the speedy striker joined Asante Kotoko in 2009 before leaving in 2011.
Affum then crossed carpets to join the Phobians on a free transfer. He however was released after a year and a half after falling out with then head cocah David Duncan.
He has joined the scientific soccer lads on a two-year deal after another failed stint abroad and has set a target of winning the Premier League title.
” My coming back to the local scene is a big opportunity for me to showcase to my fans what I’ve learned from abroad and more so to win the Premier league for Liberty Professionals,” he said
“With the help of my team mates, we shall bring glory to the club. We are not going to compete just to stay in the league, but nothing comes easy without training.”
“After returning to home, I could have chosen to play for any of the big clubs in the country but because of the transition I went through playing abroad, I think Liberty Professionals are the only club in Ghana that can help me in terms of matching that quality.
“Moreover, there’s less pressure in Liberty and so I will use this opportunity to attain the targets I’ve set for the season."
Liberty are hoping Affum will be able to replace the goal scoring prowess of Kennedy Ashia who left for Sudan in the transfer window.
