A Lady suspected to be one of the numerous soccer fans sponsored by Government to support the Black Stars at the ongoing 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa has allegedly been raped by five heavily built men at the Muzinda Residence, base of the Ghana fans in Pretoria, Daily Guide has gathered.
The indecent act, which has sent shocking waves among soccer fans, was said to have occurred on Thursday evening in an obscure corner of the forecourt of the Muzinda Residence where most the Ghana soccer fans are residing. Interestingly, unconfirmed reports say unknown to the lady and her five rapists, the incident which took place around 11:00pm, had been captured by CCTV cameras placed at vantage points of the residence.
What is also not clear now is whether the five men are Ghanaians or South African nationals. Rumours were rife though that the lady, who was heavily drunk before the lewd act, had collected money from the men in exchange for sex. The Ghanaian leadership at the Muzinda Residence is said to be aware of the worrying incident and even met the entire leadership of the various groups at the residence about the disturbing matter on Friday Morning.
Ironically, the leadership in charge of the Muzinda Residence allegedly warned those that attended the hurriedly-arranged meeting not to leak the news to the media since they did not want it to go public. South African security men in charge of the CCTV cameras reportedly became annoyed when they saw the sexual bout on their screens, and did not hesitate to repot the embarrassing development to the Ghana leadership at the residence. Reports say the five men whose identities were not know as at time of filing this report, fled the scene to escape arrest when they saw some Ghanaian leaders and the South African security men approaching.
The Ghana leadership has since refused to identify the lady who was raped by the five run away men, perhaps to save her from further embarrassment.
