An Accra High Court presided over by Justice Senyo Dzemefe has issued a warrant for the arrest of one of the soldiers who were alleged to have murdered the former chairman of the Convention People’s Party (CPP) in the Northern Region, Alhaji Issah Mobila. The suspect, Private Seth Goka, is believed to be seeking asylum in Cameroon. A State Attorney, Penelope Mamathah prayed the court issue a warrant for the arrest of Private Goka to appear before the court to also testify in the case, which was granted by Justice Senyo Dzemefe. Private Seth Goka is said to have escaped while in military custody at the Michel Camp in Accra. Meanwhile, his two colleagues, Private Modzaka Eric and Corporal Appiah Yaw, cited in the murder have been appearing before the court. The judge told the court that hearing could not be continued because one of the juries sitting on the case was absent. Justice Dzemefe explained that received a letter from the Ghana Post Hospital, excusing one of the juries for four weeks, beginning from the 15th of June, 2010. The case was therefore adjourned to the 16th of July, 2010. Alhaji Mobila who was chairman of the Convention People’s Party in the Northern Region died while in military custody on December 7, 2004 just after the general elections.
