Ghana Oil Company Limited (GOIL) has provided two boreholes equipped with mechanized pumps for two communities in the East Akim District of the Eastern Region.
The mechanized boreholes will serve Amanfrom and Panokrom, two rural communities near Kyebi.
Over 6,000 inhabitants from the two communities and five adjoining villages are benefitting from the water projects.
Since 2012, GOIL has funded over 20 borehole projects as part of its corporate social responsibility programs.
At the commission of the two projects which was attended by elated residents, the Corporate Affairs Manager of GOIL, Rosemond Awotwi Frimpong stressed on the constant maintenance of the pumps to guarantee their longevity.
