Ghana football association president Kwesi Nyantakyi has shared his thoughts on the upcoming FIFA Presendential elections in Zurich.
The upcoming election will see a new face to govern soccer in the world and champion a revolutionary and image cleansing scheme after the association had been dragged in the mud over the past few months.
Nyantakyi spoke to the BBC and made the following remarks;

ON THE ELECTIONS...

“Each and every one of them has what it takes, now the choice is left with the electorate to decide amongst them who best qualifies for this job and that will vary from one individual to the other. I believe they will be looking at strong personality, they will be looking at organizational skills, they will be looking at experience in leading a football organization and they will also be looking at the ability to go through the storm and lead this organization through this turbulent time we find ourselves.”

ON SEXWALE

“I wish as an African, we have a strong candidate to represent the continent. When it comes to the FIFA election we don’t vote on where the person is coming from but rather on the basis of competence. We will not support an African because he is an African. We will support an African because beside being an African, he has the qualities to lead the organization. He is not leading CAF he is going to lead FIFA which is made of African and other federations. I believe that the position CAF took to back Salman was without prejudice to the rise of Mr Tokyo. He is our brother, he is an elder statesman, we respect and I regard him in  very high esteem. I wish he could make an impact but unfortunately he doesn’t appear that he is the right person for Africa to support at this material moment.”

ON DECLEARATION BY CAF TO SUPPORT SALMAN.

"The declaration of support by CAF the executives committee has no legal effect bending on members but it has a persuasive effect on members and to a very large extent. I believe the teaming members of the African football confederation will toll the line of CAF.  We have 54 countries and an overwhelming majority will support the call made by the CAF executive committee.”
