Ho Polytechnic has begun giving meaning to the concept underlying the conversion of Polytechnics to Technical Universities by establishing the School of Graduate Studies.
The school has begun to run Master of Technology (MTech) programmes, specifically in the areas of Engineering.
The Polytechnic has secured accreditation to run MTech in Agricultural Engineering.
This was made known by the Rector of the Polytechnic Professor Emmanuel Kojo Sakyi during the 16th Congregation where 888 were graduated with various degrees and Higher National Diploma in various areas of specializations.
"Currently, National Accreditation Board is still working with the Faculty of Engineering for us to be given the go-ahead to pursue another MTech Programme in Electrical and Refrigeration Engineering," Prof. Sakyi revealed.
Professor Sakyi said similar engagements are underway to secure accreditation for Production Engineering.
He adds that the Polytechnic is pushing the frontiers of Technical and Vocational Education and Training by modification of the various programmes run by the Polytechnic to inculcate hands-on and technical training.
"Career and Technical workforce education have also been integrated into majority our programmes," said Skyi.
