Ghana youth international Daniel Opare says he is as fit as a fiddle to make his Belgian League debut this Friday for Standard Liege.
Liege, ninth last season, host Zulte Waragem at the Stade Maurice Dufrasne in their opener.
Opare moved to Belgium this summer and has settled in well during their pre-season training-featuring in their last three test matches.
He was a substitute on the hour mark during Saturday’s 1-2 defeat to French side AJ Auxerre.
“I can’t tell if I will start or not but what I can say is that I’m fit and ready to be in the league,” the 19-year-old former Real Madrid player told Ghanasoccernet.com
“It’s a new terrain and I have to adjust quickly. I can feel am fit based on my pre-season form and it’s up to the coach to decide. I want to start playing at the highest level.”
Opare moved to Madrid two seasons ago and never played in the La Liga despite training with the first team.
