Mr Dela Gadzanku, Board Member of Students for the Advancement of Global Entrepreneurs (SAGE) has commended the Ministry of Education for providing the air tickets for Ghana’s finalists to this year’s SAGE World Cup. He said it demonstrates the commitment of the ministry to promote youth development and the attainment of the Millennium Development Goals. Mr Gadzanku gave the commendation when he spoke to the Ghana News Agency in Accra on Sunday after seeing off eight students of Saint Augustine’s College at the Kotoka International Airport in Accra, to represent Ghana at the world cup competition in South Africa. Leading the students are Mr Seth Ignatius Donkor, Country Director of SAGE-Ghana, two mentors and one teacher from the Saint Augustine’s College, who would be offering the students lessons to win the competition. The SAGE competition aims at equipping promising professionals, students and entrepreneurs with the skills required to communicate and network to enable them to become social magnets. Schools from 23 countries across the world are participating in this year’s four-day competition. Mr Gadzanku thanked Mr Alex Tettey-Enyo, the sector Minister and Dr Joseph Annan, Deputy Minister in-charge of Tertiary Education for their lead role and commitment to ensuring the success of the SAGE programme in the country. Master Mawuli Adiamah, Form Three Science Student of the college, who is also the Leader of the students, gave the assurance that the team would win the competition and bring honours to the country. He said he and his colleagues had invented a technology, which works to reduce carbon dioxide concentration in the atmosphere to tackle climate change. Master Adiamah said the team is counting on the innovation amongst other laudable projects to win the competition. Saint Augustine’s College earlier this year beat Presbyterian Boys Senior High School, Legon, at the SAGE National Competition held in Cape Coast in the Central Region. Source: GNA
