Turkish club Fenerbahce have made a huge offer of US$21m to sign Ghana striker Asamoah Gyan after a sterling World Cup performance.
The 24-year-old, who plays for Rennes, has joined his club mates for pre-season but it is expected that he will quit the French side.
Gyan has returned to Rennes after his vacation in Ghana following the global tournament in South Africa.
But speculation about his future still persists as he has been linked with clubs in England, France, Spain and Germany.
According the French newspaper Le Parisien the biggest offer for Gyan came on Tuesday from Fenerbahce that has led the club to rethink its decision of not selling the Ghanaian.
Previous offers from clubs like West Ham and Valencia have been turned down because of the amount involved.
According to the report in the Paris-based newspaper, the offer from Fenerbahce can help Rennes to buy Nice striker Loic Remy as a replacement for Gyan.
This could minimize the impact of Gyan’s departure on Rennes as Remy is also regarded as a top class striker.
