The life after football of Ghanaian players over the years has been a major issue; it’s either some end up living well or poor.
The Professional Footballers Association of Ghana in their attempt to change the trend especially for those that end up with nothing has initiated the “Life after Footballer and Insurance Scheme”.
The scheme was launched on Monday night at the Alisa Hotel here in Accra.
According to the General Secretary of the PFAG Tony Baffoe, the policy will cover 30 players in each of the 16 Ghana Premier League Clubs
This initiative is to ensure that players in the domestic top-flight get the needed indemnity to enjoy the game.
Black Stars captain Asamoah Gyan and his teammates who are in town to prepare for Thursday’s 2017 Africa Cup of Nations qualifier against Mozambique.
Ex-Ghana internationals Augustine Arhinful, Samuel Osei Kuffour and Yaw Preko were also present.
