Ghana international goalkeeper William Amamoo is looking forward to the start of the Israeli Ligat ha’Al which kicks off on August 21.
His side Hapoel Petach Tikva will start off the 2010-11 season against league contenders Hapoel Ashkelon.
“I’m ready for it. I am going to give out my very best to ensure a respectable spot for my team,” Amamoo told Goal.com.
“The league in Israel is one of the most respected globally and coming here will serve as a good platform to market myself better. It’s going to be tough but with God on my side I hope to be on top of issues.
“Everything is going on well with me here and I love the people around me. There is a great atmosphere as well as quality facilities to put me in shape.”
Amamoo won the Best Goalkeeper in Romania award in 2003 after playing 18 games without conceding a goal, and also in 2007. He won the same award in Hungary back in 2006, including the Best Save of the Season, for finishing in fourth position with his club.
