Hearts of Oak secured the top spot on the Ghalca Top 4 table after securing a 2-0 over reigning champions Hearts of Lions at the Ohene Djan Stadium on Sunday.
New striking sensation, Edwin Osei Pele confirmed his credentials as a star player to watch in the upcoming Premier League season when he scored for the Phobians.
Osei Pele and Lions striker Gabriel Fiamenyo are now tied on 4 goals apiece in the goal king race.
Uriah Asante also scored to wrap up victory for the Phobians.
Edwin Osei Pele tells Joy Sports he is aware of the scarcity of quality strikers in Ghana and hopes to sharpen his goal scoring boots to gain a national team call up.
“This is my first season for Accra Hearts of Oak so I need to set example for the supporters and the Ghanaians to no there is a guy called Osei Pele.
“Once I am doing this I am not doing it for Accra Hearst of Oak alone but I need to go in for the national teams. So I must improve upon my football.
“Any time that I am playing I have something in my mind that I have to score a goal because Ghanaian strikers we are lacking in goal scoring,” he said.
Team manager of Heart of Lions, Yashin Laryea however says his side will not give up the fight to retain the Top 4 title.
Elsewhere, League champions Aduana Stars failed to secure their first win of the competition as they were held to a goalless draw by AshantiGold at the Dormaa Park.
