There was drama at the Cocoa Affairs Court premises yesterday morning when Abena Achiaa aka Julie Juu and Grace Omaboe alias Maame Dokono, engaged in a heated verbal brawl about the late Nana Bosmprah, the producer of ‘Cantata' and 'Obra' Akan TV programmes. This was after Maame Dokono, who is among those being cited for contempt at an Accra High Court by Julie Juu, the alleged legitimate wife of the late producer, said something which did not go down well with Julie Juu who accused Maame Dokono of being a hypocrite who did not care about the producer. Achiaa's female relatives also rained insults on Maame Dokono who they said was not on talking terms with Nana till his death. Maame Dokono, who did not take the insults lightly, accused Julie Juu of being an opportunist, to which Juu replied that Maame Dokono was envious of her. It took about ten minutes for the other members of Obra and Cantata groups including David Dontoh to calm tempers down as they quickly whisked Maame Dokono away when things started getting ugly. Achiaa, after the death of the producer, rushed to court to file an injunction restraining anybody 'from going ahead to bury Nana Bosomprah till a writ she has filed to be given the recognition of the legitimate wife of the deceased was determined. However, the late producer is said to have been married to a lady living in Germany with their three children, many years before he met Achiaa who does not have any children with him. The plaintiff, Achiaa, filed an application for contempt of court against the funeral planning committee members who are Maame Dokono, David Dontoh and Amankwa Ampofo and the head of the Bosomprah family, as well as a mortuary man at Korle-Bu Teaching Hospital for burying the man while the case was still in court. At the court presided over by Justice M. Iddrisu, counsel for Julie Juu, Rtd Capt. Nkrabeah Effah Dartey who moved the contempt application, indicated he had filed a supplementary affidavit and prayed the court to adjourn the matter. However, counsel for the respondents, Victoria Barth and Domine Brenya-Otchere, wanted the retired captain to continue with his submission for the case to be decided but the judge said he should be given the opportunity to file and adjourned the case to August 26 2010.
