The Sports Minister, Nii Lantey Vanderpuije has promised that the newly commissioned 16,000-seater capacity Cape Coast Stadium will be differently maintained in comparison to the others.
President John Mahama in his speech during the launch, Tuesday appealed that the new facility does not suffer the same fate of poor maintenance culture like many other facilities in Ghana.
According to the minister, this edifice despite being under the supervision of the National Sports Authority (NSA) will be efficiently monitored.

However, some pictures taken during the commissioning leave a lot more to be desired.
Some Ghanaians who were at the commissioning of the $35 million facility were seen standing on the seats moments after they had been advised to help address Ghana's poor maintenance culture.
The multi-purpose stadium boast of some modern sports facilities comes with a volleyball, tennis and basketball courts to accommodate other sporting activities.

Nothing could stop this man from standing on one of the newly installed seats.
