Ghana defender Harrison Afful is confident Esperance can win this year’s Caf Champions League despite setting up a semi-final showdown with Egyptian giants Al Ahly.
The 23-year-old was key for the Tunisian outfit that finished top of Group A on Saturday thanks to their 1-0 away win over Dynamos of Zimbabwe.
The former Asante Kotoko player believes the 1994 African champions can win the continent’s prestigious club competition again.
“We are ready for Al Ahly in the semi-finals, we’re taking every game step by step, we are not scared of any team, and I hope that the trophy will be ours,” Afful told BBC Sport.
Holders TP Mazembe of DR Congo will take on JS Kabylie of Algeria in the other semi final game.
The matches will be played on the weekend of 12-14 November.
