The late Eastern Regional Police Commander, Deputy Commissioner of Police (DCOP), Angwubutoge Awuni’s wife has described him as a courageous man who fought like a lion.
Loved by many Ghanaians for his passion for getting the right thing done and being a disciplinarian, Florence Awuni in her tribute said, "he fought like a lion that God created him to be and always prevailed."
She spoke of how the swiftness of his departure still remains a mystery to her and the family and how he will be sorely missed by all.

"You promised me on Sunday that come Monday we will go home together," teary Florence recounted the final days of her late husband who she said listened more than he spoke and fills her heart completely.
Florence met Angwubutoge some thirty years ago full of life and energy at Sefwi Wiaso on official duty.
"Throughout the years of our marriage, he has been a responsible and a caring father to my family. He has been a forgiving husband to me even when I got things wrong he forgave me and help me through it," Florence recounted.

She said the memories they shared will always remind her of the beautiful life they had together.
The late Angwubutoge had been heading the Motor Traffic and Transport Department (MTTD) of the Ghana Police Service before he was recently transferred to the Eastern Region as Regional Police Commander.
He died at the Police Hospital in Accra after a short illness in March.
