The Metropolitan Archbishop of Tamale, has expressed worry over the increasing number of Christians who by-pass catholic priests and go to T B Joshua for spiritual assistance in Nigeria.
Most Rev. Philip Naamie, speaking at the ordination and installation of a new bishop for the Wa diocese of the Catholic Church on Saturday, charged Christians to have faith in the anointing of their local priests.
Many Ghanaians travel to Nigeria from time to time to seek spiritual assistance from the founder and leader of the synagogue church of all nations (SCOAN) although the church has branches in Ghana.
But the Catholic Bishop said: "Every Catholic Bishop here, indeed every priest who pursue relentlessly and who converses daily with God effectively, I can bet you have more power than TB Joshua."
Most Rev. Naamie added that: "Whatever your worries are, go to them if they are saintly living priests, they can exorcise you from whatever devils that are invading you and they will be afraid of him and come out of you and you will be free."
The newly ordained Bishop, Richard Kuuia Baawobr promised the congregants not to let them down. He urged them to help him achieve the best results as the new Bishop of the area.

According to Joy News' Rafiq Salam, the Bishop took over from Most Rev. Dr Paul Bemile who retired after presiding over the Wa Diocese of the church for 21 years.
Also present at the ordination was Vice President Kwesi Bekoe Amissah-Artur. He congratulated Bishop Richard Kuuia Baawobr and urged him to intercede for the country.
