Scores of prospective voters have expressed their dissatisfaction over the failure of the Electoral Commission (EC) to replace their missing voter's ID cards.
According to them, when they went to the EC’s office to replace their missing ID cards, they were left unattended to under the scorching sun.
Joy News has gathered a system jam at the EC’s headquarters on May 10 left throng of people mainly from the Osu Klottey and Ayawaso Constituencies here in Accra stranded and frustrated.
They disclosed they made to queue for more than five hours without a word from officials of the Commission. However, after some six hours later they were told the Commission has had some challenges with its computers.
Speaking to Joy News, one of the prospective voters said “My ID is missing and I am here to replace it. I have been here for the past three hours but the queue is not moving”.
He said they were told the Commission has problems with its computers but were not told what to do next.
“We are surprised because in such situation there is supposed to be an abundance of computers to ensure that the exercise runs smoothly”, he said.
He called on the Commission to put the necessary logistics in place to effectively carry out the exercise.
