Pastor Peter Okyert of the Global Salvation Ministry Foundation has advised Ghanaians to accord due respect and dignity to the aged.
He gave the advice when he addressed 40 aged people at a breakfast meeting organised by the foundation at Kasoa in the Central Region.
The theme for the meeting was : Hope for the Aged".
Pastor Okyere said the aged, who were weak today, were once young, energetic and contributed towards the socio-economic development of the country.
He said it would, therefore, be wrong for society to underrate their importance, adding that taking good care of them would go a long way to encourage them to impart their accumulated rich experience to the younger generation for the benefit of all.
He promised that the foundation would continue, to offer the best towards the proper and effective training of people aged 70 and above in the foundation's jurisdiction.
The pastor said among activities lined up to promote the health of the aged were periodic medical check-ups, health walks, feeding and the provision of recreational centre.
The vulnerable, orphans and widows would also be catered for.
He, therefore, appealed to corporate organisations and groups to support the foundation to achieve its objectives.
Prayers were said for their protection and long life to enable them to impart their skills to the youth before their departure.
