The much anticipated first draw of the Fidelity ‘Go for Gold’ promotion took place Wednesday at the forecourt of the Spintex branch of Fidelity Bank.The draw marks the first in the series of six draws to be held to reward both existing and new customers who have signed on to the ‘Go for Gold’ campaign.Managing Director of Fidelity Bank, Mr. Edward Effah explained that “this innovative campaign is to encourage Ghanaians to bank with Fidelity Bank.” Mr. Effah admonished Ghanaians to cultivate a savings mentality, adding that, money that is not saved in a bank is idle and does not contribute much to the growth of the economy.A total of ten coupons were picked in the draw held by officials from Fidelity Bank. The first prize was won by Sarfo Asime Ahinkra of Kumasi. He took home a 42 inch plasma screen from LG. The nine other winners took home prizes ranging from home theatre sets, sets of gold jewelry, iPods, phones and other consolation prizes.The Head of Marketing at Fidelity Bank, Esi Mills Robertson who was elated by the patronage of the promotion said “this is the first bridge we are crossing in order to win the ultimate prize that we are all yearning for. Today, we are rewarding our cherished customers and non customers alike who believe in promoting a savings culture in Ghana, reaching for excellence as well as going for the new standard in banking.
