Heptathlete Margaret Simpson is expected to return to action in four weeks time according to the medical team of Ghana’s contingent at the Commonwealth games in India.
Margaret Simpson was close to winning a medal in the heptathlon event before she strained a muscle, resulting in her inability to compete in javelin and the 800 metre event.
Scans performed on her earlier today revealed that the African Champion can only return to full fitness in three to four weeks.
Ghana’s relay team will hope for a medal in the finals of the 4x100 meter event later today.
Meanwhile no member of Ghana’s contingent has contracted the chicken pox outbreak at the games in New Delhi, India.
