New Bechem United signing Alfred Nelson is hoping he can lead the club clear of safety in the second round of the league.
Nelson chose the Bechem side ahead of his former club Liberty Professionals in a shock move on transfer day.
For the defender, it is a time for change.
“There is no doubt I have signed for Bechem United because going forward I realized that I need a change and the change came at the right time.” He told Asempa Sports.
“When they [Bechem united] approached me, I thought about it critically and I realized that I have to choose Bechem United because Liberty also approached me and I realized that they are on a good position on the league table but Bechem United are not in good position on the league table so I felt my presence will be needed at the club more than Liberty Professionals.
“I will be very happy to revive the team again because I have heard that they have signed some players so I am hoping to play with them and do our best for the club.”
“I know there is pressure at the club but I have gone through a lot of pressure in my playing career so at this point, I don’t think the pressure within the club can distract me because I can cope with any pressure.”
“What I will ask the fans to do is to pray me and support me and I believe I can do my best to support the team.”
Nelson was part of the CHAN team that won silver in the 2014 championship.
