United Kingdom-based Haringey Boxing Club have named an eight-member team for their tour of Accra to face the Africa Golden Gloves Warrior (AGGW) team in an international tournament.
Gideon Quartey, Chairman of Dade Boxing Syndicate and local representative of the AGGW said the UK-based team is expected in Accra on Tuesday, October 27 to engage their Ghanaian counterparts in two tournaments.
He said the first contest will be staged at the Salenko Club, near Osekan Beach Resort on Wednesday, October 27 with the final test coming off on Saturday, October 30 at the Prisons Canteen, Cantonments.
Quartey said the expected boxers include Kingsley Okolie (76kg), Mark McKiernan (79Kg), Andre Whyte (60kg), Adrian Yeboah (57kg), Nick Parpa (86kg), Tope Omisore (93kg) and Davud Cinko (71kg).
Okolie and Cinko will be making their third appearances in Ghana after earlier bouts against the Greater Accra Amateur Boxing team in 2008 and 2009.
The team will be accompanied by six officials.
The AGGW team will climax their preparations with test bouts on Friday, October 15 at the Prisons Canteen.
