Juventus coach Luigi Del Neri has already declared that his side faces a long and difficult campaign and has asked the fans to be patient. Indeed, the Bianconeri are in a rebuilding phase and will need some time to get it right.
Luckily for the former Italian and European champions however, things have looked towards the positive in the last few weeks.
At the moment Juventus are seventh in Serie A with eight points from six matches, five points behind league leaders Lazio.
A Scudetto challenge is still not out of the question but for that, Juve need to win. As centre-back Giorgio Chiellini explains, "It will be necessary to win against Lecce so we can make the step up in quality.
It will allow us to confront the rest on the same level and we will be able to compete in the league and Europa League."
Caught in the Middle
Lecce's position in the table is interesting as well as intriguing. At the moment the Lupi have eight points from six matches and are 12th - they are just three points better off than third-from-bottom Parma but three behind Italian champions Inter, who are second.
More crucially perhaps, Lecce are level on points with Juventus and this should motivate them to raise their game and take home something from Turin on Sunday.
Encouragingly for Luigi De Canio's side, they are unbeaten in their last three matches in the league and defeated Catania 1-0 at home just before the international break.
However, Lecce are yet to win away from home in Serie A this campaign and have conceded seven goals in three league matches on their travels.
