Controversy and reports of bad officiating riddled match day seven of the Glo Premier League.
At the Sunyani Coronation Park, the match between New Edubiase and BA Stars was ended abruptly after the home fans invaded the pitch in protest of what they claim was bad officiating.
Visitors, New Edubiase were up by a lone goal, and with five minutes left to play referee Charles Duwuono ended the match after the crowd invasion.
At the El-wak Stadium, referee William Agbovi is alleged to have disallowed what appeared to be a legitimate goal scored by Hearts of Lions against Mighty Jets. The game ended barren.
At the Baba Yara Sports Stadium, a late Daniel Nii Adjei free-kick proved priceless as Kotoko cruised to a crucial 2-1 victory over Real Tamale United.
The Porcupine Warriors had their early lead cancelled by former Hearts skipper, Hassan Mohammed and with less than ten minutes to go, Nii Adjei’s fine strike saved the blushes of Kotoko.
Hearts of Oak earned a point in a goalless encounter in Cape Coast against Ebusua Dwarfs. The game between Ashgold and league leaders Kessben also ended barren at the Len Clay Sports Stadium.
At the Carl Reindorf Park, Liberty struggled to a 1-1 scoreline against Berekum Arsenals.
In Berekum, Chelsea picked maximum points against Aduana Stars, courtesy a superb strike from Emmanuel Clottey.
King Faisal’s poor form continued in Wa, losing 0-1 to All Stars.
