The Nigeria house committee on sports is bracing up to get fully involved about allegations against FIFA and CAF executive committee member, Dr Amos Adamu, for apparently soliciting for a bribe to vote in favour of the Untied States of America’s bid to host the 2018 World Cup.
Adamu, who is also the president of West African Football Union, is said to have told an undercover journalist that he wanted Eight Hundred Thousand dollars to build four artificial football pitches in Nigeria.
The allegation was reported by British newspaper, The Sunday Times with a footage showing Adamu apparently wanting money paid to him directly for endorsing the US bid.
Nigerian Sports Journalist, Kofi Bartels told Joy Sports the story doesn’t come as a surprise to most Nigerians.
He claimed Dr Amos Adamu has in the past been linked to shady deals in the appointment of coaches for the Nigerian national team, the Super Eagles.
