Telecoms giant, MTN has fulfilled part of its commitment as headline sponsor of the re-introduced FA Cup with the presentation of a 500,000 Ghana cedi package to the Ghana Football Association.
The telecom giants, presented a cheque for 450,000 Ghana cedis and products worth 50 thousand Ghana cedis to the FA at a brief ceremony on Tuesday. This amount represents 50 per cent of the full figure for the first year of the competition.
The FA early this month signed on MTN as the headline sponsor for the competition for the next three football seasons worth 3 million Ghana Cedis.
Former FA Chairman, Lepowura M.N.D Jawula will head a seven member organising committee for the competition which begins in December.
112 clubs will play in the first edition with 96 clubs from the Division One and Division Two Leagues commencing in the preliminary round. Asante Kotoko won the last edition of the competition in 2001.
