Mr. Takyi Arhin has announced his decision to resign his position as Chief Executive Officer of BA Stars with immediate effect.
Mr. Takyi Arhin who has been embroiled in the controversy surrounding the match day seven Glo premier league game between BA Stars and New Edubiase on Sunday, says he is yet to officially write to the board on his decision to resign from the team.
Explaining his decision on Asempa FM on Thursday, Mr. Arhin said there is a calculated attempt by saboteurs against BA Stars to run down the team because of him.
He said these saboteurs have managed to work with visiting teams to cheat BA Stars in their own backyard. Mr. Arhin added that some top officials in Ghana football regard him as a thorn in their flesh and are working hard to get him out of the way.
He expressed surprise at how some individuals pretend to love the team and want to inject resources into it when such people only want to bring the team down from the inside.
Mr. Arhin said his decision is in the best interest of BA Stars. He accused a top official of the Ghana Football Association, who he describes as ‘a scribe’ for making derogatory remarks about him in the presence of some club officials.
He said Ghana football has too many sycophants, bootlickers and corrupt match officials who are destroying the game.
Responding to these accusations, the Chief Executive Officer of New Edubiase, Mr. Oduro Sarfo, the other official in the centre of the controversy said he is the cause of the premature retirement of Takyi Arhin from football administration as he has documentary evidence indicting him for inciting fans of BA Stars against officials of New Edubiase.
Mr. Oduro Sarfo denied threatening to run down BA Stars because of Takyi Arhin adding that he is more qualified as a football administrator than Takyi Arhin and would not need to destroy him.
He described Takyi Arhin as a “KING KONG” who picks petty squabbles with everybody in the football fraternity and advised him to put a stop to it.
