The national tennis team, the Golden Rackets is hoping to win its first African Cup of Nations title in Libya next month.
Ghana finished fourth at the last edition and a predominantly home-based Golden Rackets team has been named to represent the country.
The trio of Raymond Hayford, Robert Kpodo and Jeff Bukari will face opponents from strong nations like Morocco, Egypt and Cote d’Ivoire in the tournament which runs from November 8 to 14.
Henry Quansah, who is in charge of the team, is backing the locally-based players to cause an upset.
He believes they have the experience and the mental fortitude to beat their opponents.
A member of the Golden Rackets team, Raymond Hayford admitted the competition will be tough.
Regardless of the daunting task ahead of the team, Mr Hayford was optimistic that with the level of preparations, the team will triumph.
