Chelsea boss Carlo Ancelotti is hopeful Michael Essien will be back for the Premiership game on Wednesday against neighbours Fulham.
The Ghanaian has missed the last two games for the defending champions and his absence was particularly missed as they went down to Liverpool at the weekend.
Now Chelsea just two points clear of Manchester United and feeling the heat of United breathing down their neck, need a lift and Ancelotti is hopeful Essien can provide that.
“I hope Wednesday he will be able to play,” the Italian said with Fulahm due to visit Stanford Bridge.
