BBC Sports Journalist Ibrahim Sannie Darra has said Black Stars striker Asamoah Gyan’s impressive display for both club and country this year makes him the favourite to pick up the 2010 Africa Player of the Year award.
Gyan was named in a 10-man shortlist for the award by CAF along with two other Ghanaian players Andre Ayew and Kevin Prince Boateng at the weekend.
Gyan is expected to face stiff opposition from other award contenders; Ivory Coast and Chelsea striker Didier Drogba and Cameroon and Inter Milan attacker Samuel Eto’o Fils.
But, Ibrahim Sannie Darra believes Asamoah Gyan stands tall amongst the other award contenders for the year under review.
