The controversy surrounding the alleged highway robbery and rape story seems not to be abated even though the matter is in court.
The latest to declare its stance on the incident is the Ejisu-Juabeng Municipal Assembly which says no such incident occurred within its jurisdiction.
The Assembly's position is contained in a statement signed by Municipal Chief Executive, Mohammed Boakye Agyemang.
It comes as a Human Rights Court in Accra, hearing the case involving Amina Mohammed, the woman at the centre of the story, adjourned to November 15.
But in what appears to be a sharp contradiction, the statement indicates that the assembly's investigations revealed only a robbery attempt and not rape.
The statement however assures motorists and travelers that the Municipal Security Council will at all times protect them, especially within its jurisdiction.
When reached for explanation, Mr. Agyemang will not speak because he was on an official assignment outside his area with the Regional Minister.
He however invited the reporter over to his office for a discussion on the statement.
