The Technical Director of the Ghana Football Association, Francis Oti Akenten has categorically denied any official communication between him and the Football Association on his appointment to committee tasked to select the suitable candidate for the vacant Black Stars coaching job post.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Sports Nite Show on Tuesday, Oti Akenten said he only heard the news on radio and that he had not received any official notification whatsoever from the FA announcing his membership of the committee.
He also said he had not sat in any meeting discuss any short-listing of possible candidates for the job and does not know if even any short-list existed.
In a related development, spokesperson for the GFA, Randy Abbey on Asempa FM’s Sports Morning Show on Wednesday said it is quite unfortunate for the Technical Director, an insider to make such a comment.
He said he could have asked the leadership of the FA when he heard the news on radio rather than engaging in showboating in the media.
