The final funeral rites and burial of the late Abetifi Constituency Member of Parliament (MP), Peter Wiafe Pepera came off at the forecourt of Parliament at the State House Friday. 

In attendance for the state funeral service of the late New Patriotic Party (NPP) MP who once served as a Minister of State as a member of the National Democratic Congress (NDC) were people from the various political parties, former and current Ministers of State as well as members of the diplomatic corps.    

Present were NPP stalwarts like the ex-President Kufour, National Chairman of the NPP, Freddie Blay, vice-presidential candidate, Mahamudu Bawumia.

The Speaker of Parliament, Edward Joe Adjaho and colleague MPs were also in attendance to pay their last respect.

The late MP, 62, has represented the Eastern Region Constituency in Parliament since 2009.

He passed on May 21, 2016, at the 37 Military Hospital in Accra after a short ailment. 

According to the family, the late Mr Pepera will be buried in his hometown, Abetifi.

An advocate for the Plant Breeders Bill, Mr Pepera also served on various Committees of Parliament including the Privileges, Trade and Industry and Housing.
