A teenager was re-arrested by Asokwa Police in Kumasi for stealing a laptop belonging to a police officer, just a week after he was granted bail for the same offence.
Sixteen-year-old Justice Appiah, a Junior High School graduate is standing trial at a Circuit Court at Obuasi for stealing lap-top computers.
He has this year alone stolen three laptops in Kumasi and Obuasi.
He was granted bail but soon after his release from police custody, he was re-arrested for allegedly breaking into the room of a police officer to steal an HP laptop computer worth GHC1, 500.
Justice Appiah also took GHC120 cash and other property belonging to Lance Corporal Benjamin Appiah of the Regional Police Headquarters.
Asokwa District Crime Officer, DSP David Gyabaah, tells Nhyira News following a tip-off, two buyers of the stolen computer were arrested.
The two bought the device in turns for 300 Ghana cedis and 500 Ghana cedis respectively and now face a charge for dishonestly receiving.
Police investigation reveals Justice Appiah has, this year alone, stolen three laptops.
His father believes the teenager is under spiritual spell.
He was at the Asokwa Police station to plead for his son’s release to enable him seek divine intervention for Justice.
