The Agona West Constituency Youth Organizer of the National Democratic Congress, Mr Eric Appoh, has said the youth do not support calls for the removal of the Agona West Municipal Chief Executive from office.
According to him, the NDC youth in the constituency had nothing against the MCE, Mr Jacob Felix Obeng-Forson, and had, therefore, been cooperating with him in the performance of his duties.
Speaking to the Ghana News agency at Agona Swedru, Mr Appoh said the December 4 Press Conference at Agona Swedru to appeal to the President to terminate the appointment of the MCE for non performance was held by a few youth, who do not represent the constituency's youth.
The Youth Organizer said the MCE was working hard to build solid structures for the Party to face the opposition New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the 2012 elections and to snatch the Parliamentary seat from it.
He said it was untrue that the youth in Agona West had a grudge against the MCE because only last week, all the youth in the 108 wards of the party in the constituency met with Mr Obeng-Forson to discuss important matters on how best the party could win the next general election.
"It would be, however, shocking and strange for the same youth to go and organize a press conference to register their protest against the MCE," he explained.
He said the growing disunity and hatred among some members of the party should stop immediately to facilitate the progress and development of the party.
The Youth Organizer said the MCE was on course to assist President Mills and the NDC Administration to deliver the Better Ghana Agenda promised to Ghanaians and appealed to the youth to support the objectives of the government.Source: GNA
