Anas Aremeyaw Anas and his team of investigators from the New Crusading Guide have been adjudged winners of the Karpoor Chandra 'Klish' Award for Excellence in Print Journalism – 2009.The stories that won the paper the award are the Madhouse –Accra Psychiatric Hospital - and the Chinese Sex Mafia. The award set up in the memory of founder of the Patrika group recognizes the outstanding work of the team of journalists published in a daily newspaper consistent with the theme.The stories are assessed on teamwork, ground investigation and impact. This year's award which was on the theme Inclusive Developmen had stories pouring in from reputed dailies representing all the continents. The national and regional dailies also strongly contended for this global award. Apart from the winning stories, seven excellent stories have been chosen for the merit award. Winners shall be awarded a cash prize of 11,000 USD and a trophy and the teams of merit awards shall be felicitated at the award ceremony to be held in New Delhi.The Jury: The jury panel for the award included Gloria Brown Anderson, Vice President, International and Editorial Development, News Services Division, The New York Times, S. Gurumurthy, reputed corporate advisor and journalist, Yogendra K Alagh, Chairman of the Institute of Rural Management, Anand and Gulab Kothari, Editor-in- Chief, Patrika group.Source: Myjoyonline.com/Ghana
