The Convention People s' Party (CPP) is poised to wrestle power in 2012. The party has therefore put structures in place and is organizing its members both at the electoral area and polling station levels to form a formidable base for the party. It had already constituted its shadow cabinet ministers who are to meet the press on Tuesday, January 11 to present its vision and answer pertinent questions about the party. The Central Regional chairman of the Party, Mr. Kwame Adu Mensah, said a at a Regional Executive Council meeting of the Party at Elmina over the weekend that Ghana was not a two-party state and that the CPP was very serious this time around and would work hard to wrestle power in the next general election. He said the country was in serious crisis as job creation particularly for the youth was in deficit, leaving the youth disillusioned and forcing some of them to engage in social vices. Mr Mensah said the CPP was the only Party that had the welfare of Ghanaians at heart and also had a plan for the solution of the country's problems. He said Ghanaians are suffering too much and therefore the Party would seek to unite the Nkrumaists front to solidify the Party which is expected to hold its national congress to elect its flag bearer before the end of the year. Dr. Paa Kwesi Nduom, the 2008 Presidential Candidate of the party, said the topmost priority on its agenda was for the Party to organize well enough at the national level adding that currently organizing members at the polling stations and electoral areas was on course. He urged all members and sympathizers to join hands and work towards ensuring victory. The Regional Youth Organizer, Mr. Kojo Aduamoah, said the future of the country would be bleak if Ghanaians voted either the New Patriotic Party (NPP) or the National Democratic Congress (NDC) into power. According to him the two main parties had nothing better to offer Ghanaians as their utterances and actions are always on tribal lines, polarizing the country in the process. "Ghanaians should consider the CPP as a third force that could offer them the best solution to their sufferings", he said.Source: GNA
