The District Chief Executive for Lower Manya Krobo, Mr Isaac Tetteh Agbo has reiterated that President John Evans Atta Mills's government would never undertake programmes and policies that would not benefit Ghanaians.
Mr Agbo made this known at a get-together organized for the Constituency and ward executives of the party at Kpong in the Eastern Region.
He said the National Democratic Congress (NDC) was seriously pursing an aggressive economic policy that would improve health, water and sanitation, education, employment and the road sectors, as contained in the party's manifesto.
The DCE said the government under President Mills had kept faith with the People of the Lower Manya Krobo District, considering the massive infrastructure development.
The DCE said that almost all feeder roads in the District had been awarded to contractors for rehabilitation to help ensure easy evacuation of food to the marketing centres.
Mr Agbo said since the NDC government took over power two years ago, a total of 18 clinics and health centres had been built in the District to improve health care delivery.
He said the government had also awarded 10 six classroom blocks, offices and toilet facilities to contractors in the Lower Manya Krobo District, to be funded by the GETFUND, to reduce the incidence of schools under trees in the area.
The DCE said the District Assembly had procured two Generator plants for two CHIPs clinics at Oboapi and Gyanresi, and that a 30-acre land had also been acquired by the Assembly to be used as a cemetery.
Mr Agbo said a total of 200 students at secondary and tertiary institutions had been placed under a scholarship scheme set up by the District Assembly to assist needy but brilliant students.
Two hundred disabled people in the area had also received various financial assistance to help improve their lot, he added.
