The Youth and Sports Minister-designate, Clement Kofi Humado has said he is determined to end the power struggle at the Ghana Olympic Committee which has led to the country being banned by the International Olympic Committee.
The government has been blamed for interfering with the administration of the GOC and the Member of Parliament for Anlo is keen to work assiduously to reverse the ban.
Answering questions during his vetting, Mr Humado said he will fast-track work on aspects of Ghana’s sports laws that contradict the IOC Charter to ensure conformity.
“If we amend the LI (Legislative Instrument) to reflect the requirements of the IOC, we should be in a position to convince them that we have satisfied our part of the bargain," he said.
Early on, he told Joy Sports that he would concentrate on the development of the lesser known disciplines.
