Ghanaian Football players plying their careers in Egypt are calling on the government to air lift them from the political tension in the North African Country. Egyptians have taken to the streets the past week in protest of Hosni Mubarak's government, forcing the football federation of Egypt to suspend its leagues. At least five Ghanaians play in the Egyptian top flight league and over 10 in the second tier league. Former player of Tema Youth Alex Dankwah who plays for a second tier in that country expressed his frustrations at the political upheaval to Joy Sports. He said for nine days, none of them has been able to leave their residence and they hear gunshots everywhere in the capital.
