Ghana midfielder Anthony Annan made his debut for German side Schalke on Friday night just four days after joining the club.
The Black Stars enforcer was in action as his struggling side held league leaders Borussia Dortmund to a 0-0 draw in the Bundesliga game.
The result means Dortmund stretched their lead at the top of the German Bundesliga to 12 points while Schalke boosted by survival chances in the league.
Annan played for 76 minutes before he was substituted by Greek midfielder Papadoupolous.
The league leaders dominated against their opponents, Lucas Barrios and Mario Götze going close, but couldn’t find the breakthrough.
The stalemate saw them extend their lead by a point, though second-placed Bayer Leverkusen can reduce the gap to nine if they win at Nurnberg on Saturday.
