Former Chairman of the Confiscated Assets Committee Carl Wilson has said he supports the President’s decision of asking him to step aside because he was becoming a distraction in the government.
According to him, his name became something that was slowing down all the good things the Mills administration did.
Speaking on Asempa FM’s Ekosii Sen programme Monday, Carl Wilson noted that “I remember when we were able to pay the TOR debt, the major news that came the next morning was Carl Wilson and people demonstrating”.
“We cannot have one person’s name becoming a distraction of government's business. Everyday Carl Wilson every day Carl Wilson”.
He added even though he was doing a good job, President Mills took the best decision for Ghana at the time by asking him to step aside.
He noted that President Mills has the political will in fighting corruption in the country especially at the port.
While commending journalist Anas Aremeyaw Anas of the new Crusading Guide for his latest work that exposes pervasive corruption at the Tema Harbour, he said rather than he being vindicated that the noise that preceded his removal from office came from persons seeking to do their own things, he said Messrs Larry Gbevlo Lartey and Alex Segbefia, deputy Chief of Staff should rather be recognised for their productive stance to support his work.
