The NDC General Secretary says he pities the Vice Presidential Candidate of the NPP for allowing himself to be used as a Trojan Horse.
Johnson Asiedu Nketia said the New Patriotic Party is using Dr Mahamudu Bawumia to deceive the electorate because he is from the Northern part of the country.
He was speaking at the campaign launch of the National Democratic Congress' Parliamentary Candidate for Tempane in the Upper East region, David Adakudugu.
Referring to the NPP's claim last year about the presence of Togolese and Burkinabes on the voters' register, Mr Asiedu Nketia said it is only the NDC that does not discriminate against any Ghanaian.
Speaking in Twi, he said: That’s why I keep saying that because the NPP is selective, they thought bringing Bawumia to you would make you vote for them. Bawumia may not be a bad person but he’s in bad company, he said.
General Mosquito as he popularly called, added that if nominating someone from the Northern part of the country could solve the problem of the NPP, the late Aliu Mahama would have done that not Dr Bawumia.
Aliu Mahama was still the Vice President when people were prevented from registering in the Southern part of Ghana because they were in Batakari...they said they were Burkinabes, he claimed in Twi.
"Every Ghanaian citizen is a Ghanaian citizen irrespective of where you are born...and that is what NDC stands for, we stand for equality of our citizens...we stand for equality of involvement..we stand for balanced involvement in the country and that is why if you are in NDC you know why...you are not in NDC because your brother John Mahama is leading NDC. Indeed, President Rawlings won more votes in the North her than President Mahama."
